I absolutely love Deshaun Watson. Last season he had nearly identical total fantasy points as Joe Flacco. Watson started 6 games, Flacco started 16… I know it was just 6 games, but I saw enough to believe Watson is the real deal. Dabo Swinney is a goof ball, I will not deny that. He was spot on in comparing Watson to Michael Jordan though. That kid is a flat out winner. They looked like a playoff team with him at the helm, even though they were absolutely plagued with injuries. Watson was so impressive that he was in the MVP conversation after starting only a handful of games. His healthy is the only red flag, but this was the first major injury Watson has suffered in years. He and Wentz are in the same boat, but I believe they are both talented enough passers to still be successful if they are required to become more of a pocket passer. Neither of them will be the next RGIII.

The more I hear about Andrew Luck’s return the better I feel. He will be starting week 1 and is expected to start all 16 games. There is even talk that he’s going to get a hefty amount of snaps in the preseason. He is more motivated than ever and putting in all the necessary work for a successful return.

I have Brees, Rivers, and Bortles all down on the list. I have a feeling the Saints will be incredibly dependent on the run this season. They have Kamara and Ingram, and also brought in Shane Vereen and Terrance West. Sean Payton knows Drew Brees only has so many more miles left in the tank, and he is going to pound the rock in hopes of keeping Brees around as long as possible.

Bortles, Smith, and Rivers are all guys that I think will take a step back this year. I don’t love any of the receivers that those guys are throwing too, and just think they will all have let down years.

Mahomes, Carr, and Keenum are all great back up options. Each of them has the potential to put up starter-worthy numbers. Worst case scenario, they end up being just a back up. Best case scenario, they thrive and make for great trade material at some point during the year.
